Staying home for Labor Day?

Happy Labor Day!

As we celebrate Labor Day I can’t help but think of the hard-working families in our community struggling to keep a roof over their heads, lights on to see at night, and water flowing to take a bath.

People like Sarah, a senior citizen who worked nearly all her life, but found herself at Crisis Assistance Ministry last week after an illness and the high cost of cooling overwhelmed her income. She burst into tears when she learned people like you care enough to help keep her lights on and her air conditioner cooling.

With rent on the rise and low-income wages at a standstill, our neighbors need our help. Sarah, and others like her, are the reason I’ve decided to Stay Home today so that more Charlotte families can stay in their homes too.

Will You Join Me?

Right now, people all across Charlotte are staying home to support #CLTStaysHome and the families served here at Crisis Assistance Ministry. Everyone deserves a comfortable bed to sleep in and a place to call home.

You can help more families meet those basic needs without even leaving your home. It’s so simple:

I can’t wait to hear what you did at home while helping more families live with dignity in this city we call home!

With gratitude,
Carol Hardison
